If you've been a reader of my blog for some time, I usually provide a monthly blogpost that features articles highlighting the latest trends in marketing, business, social media and more. Instead of providing this via a monthly blogpost, I copied a small snippet of code that now automatically adds these to my blog when I favorite each article in my Google Reader. This is now featured on the right hand side of my blog in a box entitled "Articles That Matter".
If you wanted to do the same thing on your blog, take the following steps:
1) Log into your Google Reader
2) Click on your "Shared Items"
3) On the upper right you'll see a link, "Find out other easy ways to share in sharing settings"
4) At the bottom of the next screen you will see an option "Add a clip to your website or blog"
5) You can then copy and paste the javascript into your blog
I did a small work around by copying and pasting the javascript code into a document, changing the width to fit my blog, and then pasting it in my blog.
Part of the reason I opted for updating shared items automatically is that I hope to provide more original content via my blogposts, as opposed to simply curating content.
If "Links That Matter" was a favorite feature of yours and you wish to see it return, would you let me know by either leaving a comment or emailing me?
